Dr Rachel Irwin.
I’m a clinical psychologist, which means I have obtained extensive academic and professional qualifications, and peer-reviewed experience to diagnose and treat children with psychological, behavioural, and cognitive disorders. I also have a PhD and post-doctoral training in neuropsychology – a specialist field of psychology that investigates the relationship between the brain and behaviour.
I specialise in child psychology matters like behavioural challenges, cognitive concerns, attention issues, social challenges, autism spectrum issues, mood problems, anxiety issues, family matters, and parenting issues. If you have any concerns about your child’s learning, behaviour, or emotional state – please give me a call. I can help.
I have a personal – yet professional – approach to private practice. As well as being a clinical psychologist, I am also a mother of three amazing children, a wife, a dog-owner, and an active member of the community. I know the pressures life can throw at you, and am well known for my amiable and approachable manner in helping families navigate their way through life’s challenges.
Occasionally my cavoodle Patches will also come and help me out at work. He’s always desperately keen for an invite to a session. Patches is really a canine version of a cuddly teddy bear, and he’s perfect for treating clients with dog phobias or as company for children who just want a furry cuddle.
I am passionate about working with families and children to foster happiness, confidence, acceptance, and fun.Get in touch
