Treatment for children

Helping children, adolescents, and their families overcome emotional, social, and cognitive challenges.

Children deserve happiness yet modern life can be difficult to navigate.

If something doesn’t feel quite right with your child, or your family – please, come and see me.

Bullying, academic pressures, blended families, separation / divorce, peer pressure, phobias, anxiety, depression, learning difficulties and behavioural issues – these are all stressors that can complicate life for children and adolescents.

Since 2000 I have been helping children, adolescents, and their families to overcome challenges and restore happiness in their lives.

My treatment approach is tailored for each client. Sometimes I will see a child alone; other times I will see children, parents, and siblings together. I find many children’s issues are best treated with a family approach with both the parents and child involved in the counselling process. This way everyone understands the therapeutic process and treatment goals and the support can be continued at home.

My Child & Family services include:

  • Diagnostic assessments for, and treatment and management of: mood issues, anxiety problems, social problems, behavioural issues, learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autistic spectrum disorders and family issues, anxiety, depression, behavioural difficulties, and bullying.
  • Family counselling support for: behavioural issues, parenting skills, family relationships, attachment issues, siblings of special needs, combined / blended family dynamics and separation / divorce.
  • Family Court and Immigration assessments and counselling for: parent-child relationships, care arrangements, children’s needs and child abuse / neglect.
